New Faces in Next City Council

NEW YORK, NY - Several city council members were prohibited from running again this year due to term limits while some incumbents were upset. It adds up to a number of new faces on the city council next term....

In District 8 which covers East Harlem, the upper West Side and parts of the South Bronx, voters elected the first Latino candidate in several years. It was a close race between Melissa Mark-Viverito and Felipe Luciano with Viverito sqeaking ahead with just more than 25 percent of the vote....
